Lexy Nicole Laster has been riding reining horses for almost three years. For the past year, she’s teamed up with Little Chicy. On Friday at the SWRHA Futurity, the duo claimed the win of the first slate of the Short Stirrup with a 72.
“I think I did pretty good today. I’m proud that I built on my stops – that’s where I have improved the most. I just need to remember to always put my feet forward,” she explained.
Laster said that Little Chicy, a five-year-old mare by Wimpys Little Step out of Quiet Little Chic, “Likes everything. She’s crazy – she likes to run around the pasture!”
The young competitor added a special thank you to her trainer, Todd Sommers, and her mother.
