Dana Pastorino and Hesa Rockin Whiz squeaked in for the Non Pro Prime Time win, posting the top score of 73 with just two riders to go in the large class.
“He’s a finished Level 4 [horse], which I’ve never had,” Pastorino said. “I came from the hunter jumper world, so I have a lot of experience with horses, but not reining. It’s fun to have something that’s finished. [Today], it was a good run. I had been practicing on staying straight in the middle. His spins are super easy, I just sit there. I missed one of my stops, but the rest was pretty good.”
Hesa Rockin Whiz (Topsail Whiz x A Bueno Poco Dunit) is known as “The Rock.” The six-year-old gelding is new to the Pastorino family, but already making memories.
“My daughter took him to The Run For A Million right after I bought him. I’ve just been derbying on him and I’ll show him next year in the derbies,” Pastorino explained.
Pastorino trains with Dany Tremblay, and thanks the entire Tremblay team for their support.
