Sherman Lauder bred and raised Gunner Magic, an 11-year-old by Gunner out of Jacs Shining Fancy. While other people showed him in the open divisions, for the past several years Lauder has been at the reins and using him for non pro competition. On Sunday, the pair picked up a co-championship of the second slate of the Prime Time Non Pro.
“He’s a nice little horse. The run today was fun, I don’t have many like that,” he shared. “I was really pleased with him today; he helps me out. Usually if there is a mistake, it is pilot error and not his fault.”
Lauder rides with Dean Latimer. “He always says to sit back, look up, and put weight in my stirrups. Every time I forget it,” he said. “I thank my wife, Cheryl, and Dean, and everybody at his barn.”
