Salina, Texas, competitor Lexi Laster and her horse Little Chicy put together two solid runs in Ardmore to claim the Short Stirrup Highpoint championship buckle. Not only did their run on Sunday clinch the highpoint title, it also secured Laster’s Reserve Championship position in the SWRHA Short Stirrup Year End standings – a repeat!
Laster said that Little Chicy, nicknamed Rosie, loves going fast. “My favorite thing about her is she’s really sweet. I love our fast circles,” she said, of the mare, by Wimpys Little Step out of Quite Little Chic. “My trainer, Todd Sommers, told me not to pull so much on my spins. I think I did that today.”
Laster, who said her favorite part of the SWRHA has been seeing all her friends, thanked, “Todd Sommers, my mom, and my mimi.”
