Level 4 Open and Level 4 Non Pro to Pay 20 Places!
Held at the historic Hardy Murphy Coliseum in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the Southwest Reining Horse Association Futurity and Horse Show has a history of showcasing the finest futurity horses first. As one of the last major events prior to the National Reining Horse Association Futurity, the SWRHA’s largest event has long been a final – and lucrative – test run for futurity hopefuls.
This year’s event, slated for October 19 – 24, will be even more fruitful, as the SWRHA Board of Directors elected to increase the added money for some of its Futurity divisions, raising the total added money for the event upwards of $175,000!
An exciting facet of the additional funding is that the Level 4 for both the Billingsley Ford Open and Custom Made Dunit Non Pro Futurities will now pay 20 places! Added money has also been increased in the L3 Open (L2 and L1 added monies were increased in 2019). In the Non Pro, there are increases in the L3, L2 and L1 as well.
SWRHA Board Member Kathy McCutcheon was happy to pass on the news. “What could be more exciting than adding more money and paying out more places in our Futurity! The SWRHA board along with our Pro-Management Team can’t wait to showcase another fabulous event!”
In 2020, Franco Bertolani and Gangsta Sixtysix won the Billingsley Ford Level 4 Open, worth $17,590, while Mandy McCutcheon and Star N Diamonds took home more than $5,700 for the Custom Made Dunit Level 4 Non Pro title.
