Jarvis Anderson Wins Nov. Horse Open Level 2 (2) on Wicked Pretty
Jarvis Anderson and his horse Wicked Pretty have mainly shown in the major events, but Anderson elected to slow it down for the SWRHA. “It was kind of nice to show him in a more laid-back way. I was taking my time and doing everything slow. I felt like I was messing around out there,” Anderson recalled of the run, in which he marked a 73.5 to win $470. “I got the score and watched the video, and decided I needed to take my time a little bit more when I showed because it looked better than my runs at the major events.”
Wicked Pretty is by Pretty Peppy Chec, out of The Whizards Magic, a daughter of Whizard Jac Anderson had shown years ago. “He’s a nice solid horse. He’s been a finalist at the Futurity, the Derby, and the NRBC,” Anderson said.
Anderson will stay busy this week. “I’m schooling a whole bunch. I have two pretty nice horses to show in the Futurity. One will go on to Oklahoma City. I’ve also got one to show tomorrow in the Open and Int. Open. We’ll see how we can do,” he said.
Anderson was quick to thank his wife, Stephanie. “She’s been really supportive of me on this horse. I am always telling her she needs to show him, but I think she knows I don’t want to give him up just yet, so she keeps telling me to show him. I thank her for not taking him from me just yet,” he said.
Finishing second in the Novice Horse Open Level 2 was Trey Pool and Chics Gunna Gig Em with a 73, worth $323. Chics Gunna Gig Em is owned by Tracy Higgenbottom.
Dany Tremblay Pilots SB Kachinatinseltown to Nov. Horse Open Level 1 (2) Win
Dany Tremblay hadn’t decided whether to school or show SB Kachinatinseltown, but the talented mare made the decision for him. “We walked in and she wanted to show. We went maneuver by maneuver, and she was super good,” Tremblay said. The pair marked a 73.5 to win $397.
SB Kachinatinseltown, owned by South of the Border Horses, LLC, is a five-year-old mare by Hollywoodstinseltown out of Smart Kachina Olena. “I had her earlier this year. She has always been super talented, and we get along really good,” Tremblay said. “We’re qualified for the AQHA World Show and I’m excited to show her there. The owner is a nice guy and fun to work with.”
Tremblay will be showing in Thursday’s Open ancillary classes, and has two other entries for the Billingsley Ford Open Futurity on Saturday. “Thank you to my team. They are always helpful. Ethan Wiley, Abel Garcia, and my brother (Fred) were all here to help me,” he said.
Josh Tishman and Lenas Lil Joe, owned by Steve Carr, finished second with a 73, earning $259.
Lauren Love Wins Nov. Horse Non Pro Levels 1 & 2 High Point Buckles with Show Like A Dream
Lauren Love only purchased Show Like A Dream a month ago, but the pair are already winners, securing the high point buckle for both levels of the Novice Horse Non Pro classes. The pair took second in the Level 1 and tied for second in Level 2 on Tuesday, and followed that with a tie for second in both classes on Wednesday.
“She was great. I decided to bring her here and see how she was. It was my first time taking her to a show, and I didn’t know what to expect. She was good and listened to me. I could tell she was paying attention to what I’d been working on,” Love, of Pilot Point, Texas, said.
Love purchased Show Like A Dream, by Magnum Chic Dream out of Miss Danakanic, off a Facebook ad. “I’ve just been playing with her and having a good time. She’s sweet to be around,” she explained. “I ride with Casey Hinton and Jimmy Van der Hoeven. I’ve only been riding two years and I’ve learned a lot from both of them. I thank them both.”
