Jordan Larson Novice Horse Open on MC Gunner at Southwest Reining Horse Association Futurity and Show Presented by Billingsley Ford

The Southwest Reining Horse Association Futurity and Show presented by Billingsley Ford began October 22 with a familiar name at the top of the leader board.

Top National Reining Horse Association professional Jordan Larson scored a rock solid 75 points on MC Gunner, owned by Jack Covington of Lucas, Texas, topping the 93-entry Novice Horse Open Level 2 class to earn $1,845. MC Gunner is by Colonels Smoking Gun (Gunner) and out of Covington's great mare, Mi Mega.

Reserve honors went to Trevor Dare on Magnumatic, owned by his father, Rocky Dare. Magnumatic is a son of Magnum Chic Dream out of BH Aint Misbehavin. Dare's score of 74.5 was worth $1,123.

The SWRHA Futurity and Show presented by Billingsley Ford, held at the Hardy Murphy Coliseum in Ardmore, Oklahoma, features a total of $114,000 added in 2013, keeping its position as one of the reining industry's most important fall events and a consistent prelude to the NRHA Futurity which follows a short month later.
