Red River Equine Vet Services to Sponsor Southwest Reining Horse Association Non Pro Futurity
The Southwest Reining Horse Association Futurity and Show presented by Billingsley Ford will return October 22-27 to the Hardy Murphy Coliseum in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

The prestigious event is annually one of the top five futurities of the season for the National Reining Horse Association and participants come from across the nation and abroad. The 2013 Non Pro division of the headline Futurity is sponsored by Red River Equine Vet Services of Gainesville, Texas.

Red River Equine Vet Services owner Dr. Khris Crowe, DVM MS LLC, specializes in providing ambulatory veterinary services to the southern Oklahoma and North Texas equine community. Over 85 per cent of her practice has been devoted to western performance horses and the bulk of those clients are reiners.

For Crowe, the sponsorship of the Southwest Reining Horse Association Non Pro Futurity is a way of, in her words, “giving back to the community and the industry.” She said, “It’s my way of saying thank you to those in the reining world who have supported me.”
A graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Crowe was head veterinarian and manager at Tom Chauncey Arabians, in Scottsdale, Arizona, a ranch that was home to over 800 horses. After nine years in Arizona she completed a surgery residency and obtained a Post-Doctoral Masters Degree at the University of Illinois and was awarded the American College of Veterinary Surgeons National Award for Equine Research.

In the mid-nineties Dr. Crowe conducted AQHA-funded research at the Scripps Institute and the University of Georgia. While running her private equine practice in Athens, Dr. Crowe was voted 2001 Georgia Equine Veterinarian Of The Year.

These days her practice includes a full-line of medical and surgical services, regenerative care, and state-of-the-art sports medicine therapies and treatments. For information on Red River Equine Vet Services, email to or call 903-327-2276.
